The day went well...

Saturday's dinner went real well. Shrimp scampi, spinach salad with strawberry's and a strawberry vinagrette dressing, stuffed mushrooms, and cherry's jubilee over a gluten free dark chocolate brownie. Yum, Yum.

I received a jewelry suite of bracelet, necklace and earrings, specially made and designed for me. Very lovely, very special. It took my breath away.

Sunday, several of us got together to go and see the new movie Avatar. WOW!!! I have never been to a 3-D movie before. It was terrific. James Cameron is an amazing artist. I can't wait to purchase it when it comes out on DVD.

Monday--back to the real world and work, work, work.

Walking after midnight....there wasn't any moonlight

and I didn't spy a weeping willow crying on his pillow and therefore I didn't have to wonder if he was crying for me. The dog was happy. She was so funny she noticed all the signs and got really excited because she knew that she was going for a walk. She practically dances and can't wait to get out the door. so we walked from 12:40am to 1:30am. I like to spy into the windows and see who is awake. There were lots of folks watching TV, but surprisingly there were more who were up just doing stuff.

I've had terrible strange dreams lately too. You know you hate to go to sleep when you hear those dreaded words "I think you've got worms." ugh. I don't like sleeping after something like that. Nobody likes to have worms even if its just in a dream. Another dream was about an ex and he was bad in real life I don't need him in my dream too.

Valentine's Day is coming and what's in your wallet...

I decided to give a VD dinner for my friends. 10 people are attending. I miracuously decided to make gifts for these people (as if dinner wasn't enough). And of course I haven't sewn anything in about 20 years (not quite--but might as well be). My poor, poor friends. I hope they stay friends after receiving their gifts. Its a good thing they are getting dinner and I know how to choose a good wine and my cook is a good cook.
Main meal: scallops (everyone else is to bring a supporting dish)
Wine: Geyser Peak Savigon Blanc for those that drink white wine.
Cupcake Merlot - I confess I purchased this because I thought it was a good Valentiny name. Turns out they have won several impressive awards for their wines. Good, I always like getting good stuff by accident.

Now for pictures (I also made some cute, adorable wine glass markers--so cute I made extra for me: I can't figure how to post the pics below. sorry look above.
1-placemat for each couple - sewn by me
1-heart dishcloth for each couple - knit by me
1-packages of flower seeds (no pic)- to symbolize the Imbolic Festival held on Feb 1 (I know its late)
2-wine glass markers (no pic) but really, really cute!!
1 - bar of Lindt dark chocolate chili pepper - my fave
other odd assorts that I fancy.
Its been a blast racing around and finding little items to put in the bags(and expensive). Admittedly, the most expensive is that darn Batak fabric. Those place mats cost $40. Yikes. You could buy it a lot cheaper!!! You know, the little ones in China need to keep their jobs.
So what are you buying for your fondest??!!! Better get cracking because Sunday will be here before you know it.

7 months and its still painful...

I thought as time goes by the pain lessens and gets easier. It hasn't. I guess that's what I get for thinking. I was reading my old posts about G today and I watched his DVD earlier in the week and I am very disconnected. Maybe it was the "wolf moon" from last week. I don't really know. I only know that I need to concentrate and get things done. "Move along, move along" I hear the train conductor in my head saying.

I read about the 8 Sabbats the other day. Imbolic is on Feb 1. Its about renewing and airing out yourself spiritually as well as the physical layout around you. I went home and swept the floors in my home hoping that would help. It did a little. I really need to pick myself up by the boots straps, give myself a rough shaking; wake up and smell the roses and continue forward with a smile on my face and laughter. When will my inatention go away? It needs to go away soon. It cripples me. Each step is painful, each breath is painful. I can't even imagine what it must be like for C and my mother. RENEW MY STRENGH, OH LORD! I BESEACH YOU! DO YOU HEAR ME? DO YOU CARE? WHY ARE YOU SO SILENT? AM I NOT LISTENING?

Intention... & HeLa cells...

I am currently reading the "Power of Intention" by Dr. Wayne Dyer. Its been interesting and interesting. It raises lots of questions in the area of Science for me. As for the HeLa cells, everyone has heard about them (or should have). I learned about them in junior high science class (I can only hope public school is still this informative). The cells come from Henrietta Lacks, a tobacco farmers wife (they were taken without permission-those were the times). I read an informative paper online about her (soon to be a book). She is a black woman and the paper states she is poor (although, dressed very nice). Her family supposedly do not (and did not) understand the importance of this woman's cells, (they do understand the money they have generated). The cells are immortal and regenrate. The cells were helpful in discovering the polio vaccine. They have also helped in many different areas of the medical field (hence money and lots of it-billions).

My thought on the cell regeneration is this woman had cancer and cancer cells seem to be able to "morph" and grow; perhaps this is where they obtained their immortality. Her family is now obsessed with obtaining a "piece of the pie" regarding the money involved. It truly makes me sad. Sad that someone stole her cells, sad that her family received no compensation; sad that this woman most likely had a painful death and sad that, in my opinion, no one wins in a lawsuit.

What it causes me to think about most is "intention." What were and are all these people thinking and where has it gotten anyone. First and foremost, we have the death of a woman. Second, a polio vaccine. Third, knowledge by leaps and bounds in the medical field. Fourth, lots and lots of money changing hands. Fith, a lawsuit by a family that desires compensation.
No rights, no wrongs just intention that takes us places.

Sundays homelessness...

Sunday I drove by Hwy 24 and I25 where they intersect. There are usually homeless in the area. I have not seen this many tents since the early 80s. So many homeless it brought tears to my eyes. My friend that I had lunch with made me sad. She noted the tents also and wants the city to get rid of them because it looks bad and ugly, and my thoughts were how can I help them. It could easily be me in one of those tents and I was wondering what I would need and appreciate.
