this is an interesting verse. I exchange the word "master" with boss or manager. I know the first year at this current job I have I was slandered a lot and still am, I do not care for those people that did this at all. Although, I do not see how they are paying for it. Sadly, I do hope in my heart that they will, someday. It won't be by me. Again, in my heart I hope to see it. Such pettiness in myself I see and feel discourged by it. sigh.

I hope for you that you do not have to deal with this either from others or in yourself.

"Two things I ask of you, O Lord; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies from me: give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, "Who is the Lord?" Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.

I have previously underlined, "Keep falshood and lies far from me". (This is my fourth time through Proverbs BTW) I believe hypocrasy falls into this category too.

I think the idea of asking for neither poverty nor riches is a good way to go too as I think about it. I see many people with riches who forget Our Lord Your God and have become distracted by all that they have or can have. I see those of poverty who don't remember him because they are too busy trying to survive. Another, more unpleasant, type of distraction, yes???

Proverbs 29:26-27
-Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the LORD that man gets justice.
-The righteous detest the dishonest; the wicked detest the upright.

I think we forget to remember that THE LORD YOUR GOD is who serves justice. I think we get impatient and try to "fix" things ourselves believing it will be quicker. I know I fall into this trap often enough myself.

I have all of verse 27 underlined. hmmm... I must like it a lot.

So I've had...

nothing but agravation and frustraation...(and I'm still happy and enjoying life, if a little tired):

-My Saga with the kenmore laundry center:

I went in to Sears last night after calling everyone and their mother (so to speak) on Tuesday about my leaky issue and plus its too big. What Sears needed from me was for me to make a decision, so I did. I decided that I needed the center removed from my home, as I am unable to use it anyway and obtain a refund from them.

As I was driving to the store, I also spoke to myself (I do that a lot) on how I was going to approach the people working there. Do you go in angry? no How does one go in attitude regarding these things??? Yes, I'm frustrated, yes, I'm disapointed, yes, I'm tired, yes, I'm even a little angry. My anger has nothing to do with these people and they can do nothing about it. Plus my anger makes me look guilty. It's the situation and control is key.

I approached a sales person and spoke to him about my issue and he said these laundry centers (all in one stacked) are infamous for this issue. ugh. sounds like a design problem to me now.

long story short - Sears will be picking up the laundry center Saturday and gave me a full refund. Yay.

now I'm exhausted by the whole ordeal. I'm so tired that I am unable to make a decision about what to do about no washer/dryer. sigh

there isn't much I can do now since all appliance designs come with a depth of not less than 26" and I need 23". I am still incrediously amazed at all the wasted space in these designs. sigh.

The second verse makes one think. Are you angry??? Are you hot tempered?? I've noticed for myself it is much better to think, to slow down, and to consider how to approach things.

So I've had...

nothing but aggravation and frustraation...(and I'm still quite happy)

gave the dog a bath last Friday as we were headed on an overnight trip and she seemed really smelly and I couldn't figure this out and there was no way I was riding in a car that far with a smelly dog. Went on trip with nice clean dog.

Monday roles around and DD helps out with the installation (yay thank you--greatly appreciated) and afterwards takes dog to dog park. comes home with a yucky smelly muddy dog. SAY WHAT????

Well, turns out the smell comes from said dog running around in the stream that is fishy smelly and also gets muddy from dog park earth which is doggy smelly. "light bulb"

Anyway, informed DD to clean dog. nope gonna take her to dog wash tomorrow, but hey you can deal with the smell overnight right??? ugh so I acquiesce. dumb.

the rest of the story, DD "forgot" to take smelly dog to get cleaned next day. Unacceptable. Next time, she cleans said dog or dog gets to go "home" with her.

Long story short, me, myself & I got to clean the dog again. ugh

lesson learned.

So, I've had...

nothing but aggravation and frustraation in my life since (re)-beginning my Proverbs in a Year study, and cannot believe how unbelievably happy I am all the same.

and lots of learning.
---

1. my washer was having issues. I decided to "fix" it. I tore it apart cleaned out the drain tube and drain pump. found thirty cents. cleaning this did not fix it. called repair in, that did not fix it 'cause the bearing went out which is connected to the outer tub,which is connected to the inner tub which when you take the bearing out to fix it all of the above must come out which breaks the seal on them all and they all need replaced. $600 fix. best to purchase new right???

well that would be true if the merchants didn't go with the horrid American attitude of bigger is better. I need a depth of no more than 23" and everything full-size is made with a depth of 27" or more even for "compact". My old 23" depth units were full-size. What is up with all the wasted space??? GRRRRR...

2. Purchased new kenmore laundry center. spoke to sales person about the depth issue and purchased a unit. turns out the sales person didn't listen or didn't believe me ('cause I'm a woman and don't know any better) and this unit is 28.25 and so it stickes out 6" too far.

Beware: the specs on any sheet read that you need 4" for the dryer vent. its a lie. you need 6" and can squeeze it to 5" if necessary.

3. ok so I decided to set it up myself. dryer easy peasy. washer - easy: Well it would be if you have a power cord. Turns out, these types of items do NOT come with a power cord. SAY WHAT??? Ok, removed power cord from my old dryer because it still worked and I can just re-sell (crossing fingers). now I have a power cord. Get every thing set. Although this took so long....it was delivered at 9am and I got it running at 5pm (with a little help in the end from DD-darling daughter). ugh. But I persevered and learned lots. yay me!

did laundry. strangely sometimes it wasn't all the way spun out. turns out that the inside water inlet leaks. SAY WHAT???? yep--this laundry center has this issue a lot. It all has to go out. sigh

4. now have to return the new. (remember to keep my power cord).

5. should have had the old repaired. As I still have the depth issue. sigh


Things I learned:
-I learned how to attach the 3 wire power cord to a laundry center. be very careful and take time to read all the directions regading this.
-I learned how to install a dryer vent.
-I learned why repair and delivery people wear long sleaves while doing this type of work because these types of items have sharp metal edges and the metal wins every time.
-I learned why people hire someone to install stuff like this.
-I learned that no matter how difficult this all was I still liked doing it.
-I learned that it takes me a long time to do this type of DIY.
-I learned that new is not always better
-I learned that I should have had the old repaired
-I learned that I have lots more to learn.

I find the first verse very profound. So what do you do??? Beat him??? just kidding. Accountability, example: if you do not work, you do not eat.

All I have to do is look int he mirror to see this "man" at times. I dislike intensly when I am this fool. This verse reminds me to think before speaking. Once again control is the ultimate suggestion in this line, isn't it?

I think of a family relative with the first and last verses, who is in prison. I believe because he was not disciplined. It was a heartbreak and huge disgrace and dishonor for his father. very sad.

love love the second verse. I see this in my workplace all the time. and ironically we are a religious organization. yes, true ironies are the worst.

I've noticed that when something makes someone angry others see this as that person's guilt. Now there's another irony for you.

Proverbs 29:5-8

-Whoever flatters his neighbor is spreading a net for his feet.
-An evil man is snared by his own sin, but a righteous one can sing and be glad.
-The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.
-Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.

It saddens me that for some reason I cannot access Bible Gateway.com. I like to read the comments of certain verses. The first verse would be one example as I sometimes find the bible sentences mean exactly opposite of how I read it and understand. I'll let you figure the first verse on your own.

I like the second sentence the best today. my questions to you about it would be, "how often are you snared?" and best of all, "how much can you sing and be glad?"

Keep in mind, (and this next comment will not make me popular), "caring" does not mean providing a handout for all. Read the book of Ruth if you doubt me. Ruth is my next heroine in the bible. As she and her mother-in-law were very very poor. After a full days work, Ruth still went out to glean the leftovers of the harvested crop so that they could eat better. It's not easy to pick up tiny seeds and sift them.

My concern here is that I know that there are those that are receiving income and going out and blowing all the money on C-R-A-P, and expecting more money when they could be and are perfectly capable of doing work. Is it great work? No. Its be a janitor, which I know from first-hand experience is not great. It is also work that doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out. They sit at home and get fat when they are perfectly able to work. Ok now I am falling into the trap of keeping every sentence. I could go on and on and on as this is a pet peeve of mine but I'll stop now.

And most importantly, I am not saying to not help those who truly cannot help themselves, I am saying that at times there are people being "helped" into being lazy.

Books I'm reading...

Ok to clarify, just because I can and its stuck on my mind until I do...

I read, A Room of One's Own in August and in September Mrs. Dallaway both written by Virginia Woolf. Is it any wonder why I can't concievably get through Middlemarch by George Eliot???

I do believe that the idea of a room of one's own is a very good one.

My comments on Mrs. Dallaway: parts were good, parts were boring; parts were you could see the author was trying to be profound by connecting people in little ways throughout the day (and failed). Most it was again pretentious. Don't rich authors know anything about the poor??? They see them everyday, sheeesh. and by the way, Virginia was upper middle class and possibly higher. Is this all that people thought about at that time-period, during the day???
-Yikes.

-By justice a king give a country stability, but one who is greedy for bribes tears it down.

Oh, the groaning is loud these days isn't it???

Oh, Lord Your God, give us wisdom. I find that "prositute" can mean many things, such as; too many electronics that distract you from your family and friends, too much shopping, too much texting, too much eating, too much, too much too much of anything is a "prostitute". What's your "prostitute" in your life?? and making you squander your wealth?? wealth can also be your time.

Justice, king, stability---key words
Greedy, bribe, tear ---Key words

Lobbying comes to my mind when I see or hear the words bribe, greedy, tear. I think we should make lobbying illegal in this country. It had a place and time and now that time is over. I also think that those elected into office should have to actually read the laws themselves they pass instead of hiring others to read it for them and summarize it. And most important, when those elected pass a law they CANNOT BE EXEMPT FROM IT!!!!

Why yes I forgot to post this day!!!

Here's the Proverb:

Proverbs 28:27-28
He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses. When the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding; but when the wicked perish, the righteous thrive.

--that last sentence gives me chills down my spine. Do you see it??? I know you do. I do. I find that in today's times with the so-called people we have running this country and many other countries too, that most people have gone into "hiding". I constantly ask myself, "where have all the people gone"," where are your voices?" Wicked people are in power, hence people hide.

-we are not thriving. and is it any wonder???? Govt has encouraged people to not work, to not do your fair share. I understand those among us who cannot work and they need provided for, but that doesn't mean to include everyone in this category!!!

---as for the first sentence, I constantly appreciate where I am and who I am as I could easily be the old smelly woman who lives under the bridge.

Books I'm reading...

current:
DEC Read: Middlemarch by George Eliot - Why oh why, do I seem to be choosing people who are atheists to read??? they are worse than the Christian writers to read, with their holier-than-thou narcisitic pitiful attitudes (ooooo-I am grouchy. Pay no attention to the grouchy woman behind the blog curtain).

Nov Read: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon- very interesting, no brainer. Once again, the author saved too many sentences and published them. It was good enough though to keep me wondering and I may read the rest of the series. We shall see what January brings my way.

Oct read: Perfume by Patrick Suskind ---- Ewe! is a good word to describe this serial killer read. It was interesting and well-written (translated--first written in German). Very stark very depressing. No wonder I'm grouchy. All these depressing books since September.

Sept read: A Room of One's Own - by Virginia Woolf - a pretentious athiest who sadly committed suicide. There is an explanation, please google her and you will find that she and her sister were raped repeatedly by her half brothers (allowed by the "christian" parents)(no wonder she's an athiest). This is an essay, which wasn't bad but did seem to go on and on about things. I liked reading it as it gave information about the the time period so its worth reading if you are interested in history. But now that I think about it she has fallen into the same trap as other writers I've read in trying to keep every good sentence. Really??? Just because you write a sentence and its really really good doesn't mean you should keep it--the end. I could go on and on about that last sentence, but really, no need. (smiles slighly).

After reading Virginia I chose to read one of the authors she mentions in her book. Hence the current read of Middlemarch by George Eliot. I had no idea she is also an atheiest --geez how do you spell that???

I haven't....

posted in a year. Someone PMed me today and complimented me on my blog today. They probably finger-fuged. LOL

but it did get me to post.

Anyway lots has happened and I should really update and complete the Proverbs study. Maybe then God will find favor in me and I won't be such a grouchy old lady, which I am not used to being. I am truly usually a very happy person and I enjoy life. In fact, growing older is a joy. It's also not for sissies, maybe that's where the grouchy comes in, hmmm?? Just thinking out loud here.

Lately though, and by lately I mean a really long time-period (some would say my whole life - but those types of peeps don't really know me(insert the word "family" here, ha)), I mean quite awhile for me tho, sigh, and I just don't seem to be able to shake the feeling. I do have a great life and appreciate that fact even if I don't seem to be able to show it lately.

I think "lately" is my word these days. Like lately I had to wressle with the washing machine and tear it apart. I thought cleaning out the trap might help. I found 30 cents and parts of someone's underwire bra. someone = DD = darling daughter. and of course the ugly wet strings of lint. Sadly, it still does not go into the spin cycle. sigh, the repair man comes on Wednesday.

Lately I took up weaving. I can already hear the "ooohs and aaahs," and "how cool is that?" thoughts in your mind. It really is a cool thing to do. I love it!!! I most especially love making plaids. Which not many weavers do as its really really difficult to weave an exact square. And yes, you do need an exact square. Although, it doesn't bother me if its not exact, which for a weaver, is a strange concept.

Here's a baby blanket that was gifted to a lucky cousin who recently had a baby. It's hanging over the cherry wood counterbalance (counterbalance is the best--and very rare here in the USA) loom that I picked up for a song (insert "the hills are alive..." from the sound of music here)!!! Truly it was a song and I got very very lucky that it works as it is a home-made loom and those usually have a hard time working because its usually made by someone who doesn't know what they were doing.
