dear friend...

Hello,
It's me again.

Just wanted to say that I got invited to a party! Yes, me! Even invisible me gets to go to a party once in awhile.

I was invited a week ago and wasn't certain if I would go as people make me nervous. I left it open, so to speak and if I remembered to go great and if I conveniently forgot, well, even better. And you also have those dreaded awkward moments that you hope never happens to you and if they do you know you won't be invited back.

Case in point: the spittle moment-totally embarrassing and gross; or the saying something stupid moment; the laughing at something inappropriate moment or at the wrong moment; the picking an argumentative discussion with the most favored person at the party moment and even if you are right you made no friends by making the popular person look stupid

So I did remember to go, spoke as little as possible, and I even brought presents. I still had a woven towel so I used the tan towel to wrap a couple of bottles of balsamic vinegar and complimentary oil and a wine bottle stopper that I made with a cork from a favorite bottle of wine that my cousin owns the vineyard and winery; and a half dozen eggs from my chickens. I thought it a coolio gift and maybe a little much with all of it but it may secure a future invite.

I didn't expect to stay long as it was scuba diving happy hour meeting and I don't dive. My friend told me it was about 50/50 of people who dive or don't. I'd say it was 50:1 with me being the one that doesn't.

Anyway, the evening went swell (I just love that word-it implies greatness but not over the top greatness). I enjoyed my evening. No spittle, nothing stupid stated and no unpleasant discussions, no inappropriate laughter, and I got to get a little mileage (bragging rights) with my trips to Hawaii and Spain, which helped to establish me a little more as "one of them that travels" instead of just "one of those that doesn't." I stayed longer than expected and got to leave at an appropriate time, which was soon after arrival.

I had a swell time.

Toodles for now, send me all the news.
Love always,
L

Stalled no longer...and George is happy...

Yay! weaving continues with George. This is a diaper twill (aka false Damask) variation. Its turning out more like a radio wave look than the look I had in my head. Oh, well. Some days I like it. Some days it's just ok.

now if I can just get the 2x2 hem done on 504 ends I'll be back to weaving.

Happy weaving, ya'll!

Knitting...

ooh, take a look at my sweater now, baby!!!

I will soon be at the scary steeking part. good thing I used "cheap" yarn (still expensive) but not as much. If that makes any sense let me know.

Happy knitting!

dear friend...

I know you are out there somewhere but sometimes you are so quiet.

For most of my life I've been one of those invisible type persons. You know the type. The one without many friends (if any). The one that laughs when its inappropriate to do so. The one that others roll their eyes at because they think (know) I'm an idiot. The one that everyone really laughs AT not with. The one that says what's in their mind when they shouldn't.

I was told once by someone that they always knew what I was thinking because whatever it was that was on my mind was out my mouth the next second. She told me it was refreshing. Ironically, I have a hard time believing that because she doesn't stay in contact. "Refreshing" must have gotten not so refreshing after all.

Now where was I going with this post?

Oh yeah...

Dear Friend,

Sometimes I'm hot and cold at the same time and I wonder how that can be? But since I'm a woman over well...let's just say older...maybe that is more understandable than I realize.

Anyway, hope things are going well for you. Send me all the news.
Take care.
Love always,
L

--Although on a side note "what is up with that??"

Psalm 143:1-12, Proverbs 17:26

I had a feeling of desperation today. So I begged for help and opened the daily reading to this passage. Ironic, that its exactly how I feel.

Psalm 143

A psalm of David.

1 Lord, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief.

2 Do not bring your servant into judgment,
for no one living is righteous before you.

3 The enemy pursues me,
he crushes me to the ground;
he makes me dwell in the darkness
like those long dead.

4 So my spirit grows faint within me;
my heart within me is dismayed.

5 I remember the days of long ago;
I meditate on all your works
and consider what your hands have done.

6 I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land.[a]

7 Answer me quickly, Lord;
my spirit fails.
Do not hide your face from me
or I will be like those who go down to the pit.

8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.

9 Rescue me from my enemies, Lord,
for I hide myself in you.

10 Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God;
may your good Spirit
lead me on level ground.

11 For your name’s sake, Lord, preserve my life;
in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.

12 In your unfailing love, silence my enemies;
destroy all my foes,
for I am your servant.

Proverbs 17:26 - It is not good to punish an innocent man, or to flog officials for their integrity.

Grace to you, good day.
