Proverbs 12:5-7

5 The plans of the righteous are just,
but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.

6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood,
but the speech of the upright rescues them.

7 The wicked are overthrown and are no more,
but the house of the righteous stands firm.

It does not seem as though this is true. Most likely, I am not looking at the whole picture. I suppose that is what is wrong with society these days, we are looking for instant gratification, bad or good. Make good choices.

Dinosaur Ridge-Morrison, Colorado...

Went to see Dinosaur Ridge located in Morrison, Colorado (Denver) for the first time. Its a great place to see fossils if you are into that kind of thing. Or even if you're not, like me.

There's a visitor's center and a new museum too. The museum is a nominal charge of $1.00. yep, that's one dollar. and they have tables set up around the visitors center so you can take a picnic and have a nice enjoyable outing. You walk up to the fossils that are along a closed road. I recommend you take a bottle of water with you even though its only a mile to two mile hike depending on how far you want to walk. You still need to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

I enjoyed it and it was a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Good day.

Proverbs 12:4

4 A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown,
but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.

This verse is hopefully self-explanatory. I don't think it has anything to do about being less than one's self. I think it celebrates women who are noble and lets everyone know that being disgraceful is not only true for women but all stations in life such as children and husbands too.

Disgraceful people are draining on the rest of us.

Proverbs 12:2-3

2 Good people obtain favor from the LORD,
but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes.

3 No one can be established through wickedness,
but the righteous cannot be uprooted.

I really like verse 3 today, "the righteous cannot be uprooted," gives me hope. I know it sounds silly but it truly does make my day a little brighter.

Righteous: : acting in accord with divine or moral law : free from guilt or sin.

Most likely the verse really shouldn't give me such good feelings as the thought that runs through my mind, "he who is without sin, throw the first stone." None are blameless including self. Ah, well the verse still makes me happy even though I am not free from sin. That's why we all live by grace today and everyday.

Love these posts...Simply Noteable.

Simply Noteable has a great post on how to dye eggs with onion skins. Take a quick hop on the link to a terrific explanation on how to do this. Its beautiful.

Personally, I am now thinking I should do this with yarn. Just love that reddish/brown colour, don't you???

and here's another post on how to safely grow your own alfalfa sprouts. I had no clue until I read online that there are safety issues regarding bacteria doing this and Simply Noteable explains that you must bleach your seeds to be safe.

Love their blog too.
Good day.

The Hunger Games.

I had the opportunity to read the Hunger Games. Its a great read and I read it in a day and so did DD. It is a well-written book and one of whose content I would NOT normally read. I got caught in the web of others who have found it thrilling and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

There are three main words that I would use to describe it:

1. Brutal
2. Stark
3. Well-written

The book flows well and after the first few pages you cannot put it down. You want to keep reading to see what happens next and usually what happens next is someone else gets killed. As I saw myself doing this, I questioned my own morals and humanity. I felt I was like a "looky-loo" (my word I use to describe people who slow down to look at a tragic accident), which I abhor and do not do.

Its a kill or be killed movie. It covers the decisions we make for same and how to live with the choices made.

Kudos to the author, Suzanne Collins, for writing up a book that has caught and kept everyone's attention. I look forward to going to the movie and checking it out too. Although a part of me cringes at that thought. I know several people who have disliked the movie rendition. We'll see.

Today ends Chapter 11 of Proverbs.

Proverbs 11:29-31

29 Whoever brings ruin on their family will inherit only wind,
and the fool will be servant to the wise.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
and the one who is wise saves lives.

31 If the righteous receive their due on earth,
how much more the ungodly and the sinner!

Verse twenty-nine brings several people to my mind that I know. I think that verse 30 is difficult for all of us to attain. Here I keep thinking to do the right thing at all times and hopefully wisdom will save me. Verse 31 is interesting and thought provoking.

Random Thoughts...blah, blah, blah.

"If you look for the bad in people expecting to find it,you surely will." Abraham Lincoln

I started out with a nice quote. Stop here as the rest is rambling.

I find that I am constantly looking for the good in people and have found that I get a lateral misconception (no better way to explain this concept). At least that's what it seems to have become for me.

Misconception: mistaken notion.

I am running into the issue of people presenting themselves as who they think they are and I find that they are NOT. Hence, my lateral misconception label because it is that person who actually has the misconception, not me.

This is and has been a very interesting phenomenon for me. I am finding that these misconceptions aren't little issues---they're HUGE!!! What's the deal??? Do you have this problem??? Because believe me it really is a problem. Especially for those of us around the people who have these major misconceptions about themselves.

Those of us that hang out with these people almost have to become a mind reader and I don't know about you, but for me that's IMPOSSIBLE! If you cannot be honest with yourself about who you are then you cannot be honest with others and therein lies my problem.

Case in point: I have a friend that I hang out with on occasion and everything that he states about himself I have to pay attention because usually what he states about himself, the opposite is in fact the truth. Example: he stated that he was not a football fan and yet he made absolutely certain that he was home or near a TV for certain games. In fact, he made it clear on more than one occasion that he had to watch football. It wasn't just one or two games, it was lots. In my mind, this is most definitely a football fan. And can be a major misconception when he has stated that he can take it (meaning football) or leave it, and that is totally NOT the truth. What if I had believed him and made plans during a game that was imperative that he watch??? This could have been a big problem had I believed his actual statement about himself. Sheesh.

Please people...let's not be so stuck on ourselves that we forget to be open to learning, and most especially, learning about ourselves. It really is very helpful if you can do this. I realize that at times this is difficult. Keep in mind that no matter how difficult it may be, if you can get through the pain of certain admissions about your true self, you grow. And that's important.

Just sayin.

Good luck with your learning process about yourself. Grow, Grow, grow.
Good day.

26 People curse the one who hoards grain,
but they pray God’s blessing on the one who is willing to sell.

Knitting...

Sand dollar Dishcloth
Lucky Charms
March Mystery sock

Thought I would make a post on some knitting I've been doing.
Love the dishcloth and it reminded me of my trip to California, so I had to make it. Such a quick knit and instant gratification.

The green and white socks were a fun Feb/March knit with Knitters Brewing Company. Always grand fun and a great design. These are my current faves and love, love the heel. Its a Fleegle heel.

March Mystery with SKA on Rav has been fun. I don't recommend the striped yarn with cables or in this case a mock cable since its a 1x1. I do love how the colours are pooling. I dyed this yarn myself with Kool-Aid. It was fun. 1packet of orange for the whole skein, 1 packet tropical punch for 3/4 of skein, 1 packet of grape for 1/4 of skein. you have to find a way to hold out the yarn I just used a bowl to the side of the hot water.

Sadly, no spinning done. I do lust for the Carson Cooper spinning wheels and lurk quite a bit in his Rav group. Just love, love that ST DD Sabrina in Walnut. Currently have resisted all temptation. I will admit don't know if I will be able to resist after all the debt is paid off. Wish me luck.

Anyhoo, happy knitting.
Good day.

18 A wicked person earns deceptive wages,
but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.

19 Truly the righteous attain life,

Proverbs 11:16-17

16 A kindhearted woman gains honor,
but ruthless men gain only wealth.

17 Those who are kind benefit themselves,
but the cruel bring ruin on themselves.

I always, always appreciate when someone extends kindness to me. I try to pay it forward to others and sometimes paying it forward to someone who isn't nice is what I like to do. We are all at different places in life and some of us may be having harder times than others. Its interesting to note in the verses above that kindness not only benefits others but also yourself, and that wealth is not as important as kindness. I like that. I encourage you to keep that in mind as you search for wealth.

Maybe instead we should all be concentrating on kindness towards others instead???

Proverbs 11:15

15 Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer,
but whoever refuses to shake hands in pledge is safe.

This verse is in no way stating that you shouldn't help people it just states not to do the above if expecting to be paid back. Don't bite off more than you can chew, comes to my mind here. If you can afford to loose the money, pledge. If you cannot, don't. Simple.

10 When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices;
when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.

11 Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted,

Unclutter...debt reduction - update.

I am very excited about my debt reduction and hesitate to make a post so as not to jinx myself. But since I don't really believe in "bad" luck, or good for that matter, I will at least say this:

When I made my decision to be out of debt by December 2012, I really had no idea how this would actually take place. By my figures, it could only realistically and actually happen by July 2013, and that was highly unacceptable to me. I prayed about it. I meditated about it. I thought about it day and night and finally chose a date that was acceptable to me. Even if albeit, a bit "unrealistic."

My thoughts were it took me years to get into my predicament, it was only acceptable that it would take me one to get out of it. I, and only I, put myself here. I needed to get out of it, soonest.

By my new improved and recalculated figures it will be close, it will be dicey, the happy news to me is that it is DO-ABLE. Yeah me.

Things are looking up, especially since I have been feeling discouraged lately and I was bad this month. I set myself back a month. YUCK!

Keep on keepin on, everyone! and I encourage you to get out of debt quickly!!!

Proverbs in a Year...March 11.

and because I have been a bit discouraged and struggle to keep up on Mondays here is Sunday's post.

Proverbs 11:5-6

5 The righteousness of the blameless makes their paths straight,
but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness.

6 The righteousness of the upright delivers them,
but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.

Be careful what you desire. It may be your downfall. Its so easy to see other's downfalls than our own isn't it??? This is exactly why I have been requesting wisdom and discernment. Its almost become a mantra for me when I get up, throughout my day, and when I fall asleep at night. I repeat to myself over and over again, "wisdom and discernment; wisdom and discernment."

Make good choices everyone. Do the right thing at all times. and what happens to you is YOUR responsibility not someone else's---NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS!!!

Proverbs in a Year...March 8.

Today ends Chapter 10 of Proverbs.

Proverbs 10:31-32

31 From the mouth of the righteous comes the fruit of wisdom,
but a perverse tongue will be silenced.

32 The lips of the righteous know what finds favor,
but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.

Watch what you say and think. I also think its wise to watch the company you keep and listen to what they are saying. If its perverse, you need to evaluate the company you keep. But what is perverse??? Maybe perverse to you is not perverse to me. Hmmmm...

Merrium-Webster defines perverse as 1a : turned away from what is right or good : corrupt b : improper, incorrect

This only creates more questions, like, what is corrupt, improper, incorrect?
Corrupt: 1a : to change from good to bad in morals, manners, or actions; also : bribe b : to degrade with unsound principles or moral values.

Improper: : not proper: as a : not in accord with fact, truth, or right procedure : incorrect b : not regularly or normally formed or not properly so called c : not suited to the circumstances, design, or end d : not in accord with propriety, modesty, good manners, or good taste .

Incorrect: 1 obsolete : not corrected or chastened; 2 a : inaccurate, faulty b : not true : wrong
3: unbecoming, improper

I am going to go out on a limb here and make a statement, which is, that we all KNOW what is perverse, corrupt, incorrect, we just don't or refuse to admit it and we want to con volute each and every situation by pretending we don't. Good luck finding your way through all the muck.

You know what is proper, so quit pretending and do the proper thing at all times.

Proverbs 10:29-30

29 The way of the LORD is a refuge for the blameless,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil.

30 The righteous will never be uprooted,
but the wicked will not remain in the land.

The above verses give me hope, especially when I see so much wrong doing around me. Its not for me to question when and how the wicked and evil will come to ruin, although sometimes its difficult to not be affected by it. Our Lord Your God has been so quiet lately. Don't you think??? Like a calm before the true storm.

I encourage you to be kind to those around you and this includes your thoughts about others too.

I think I might be unlovable...

"I think I might be unlovable." Isn't that about the saddest thing that someone could say about themselves? I think so. No, its not me. I don't think that at all about myself or anyone else for that matter. I will say that I was around someone that did recently make that statement.

I believe we are all searching to love and be loved by someone (and of course, there is an exception to every rule or statement). I think the key is for each of us to make good choices regarding this issue. Sometimes we do, and sometimes we don't. You must be able to forgive yourself and learn.

I was reading a blog awhile back and this person suggested that each of us should think about BEING "the one" instead of searching for "the one." Interesting concept, yes???

I like it and have been concentrating on this idea. Part of my journey has lead me to unclutter my life. I think that makes me a better "one" for me and for any future partner.

There is also a book out there called "The One" addressing this exact concept. Even if you already are "the one" for someone, supposedly the book encourages your continuing journey of staying "the one."

I wish you well on any journey you choose. Even if its to choose to NOT being "the one." Remember you are lovable, even if you don't quite believe it, its true.

Good day and good journey to you.

Read the fine print...

Once again I've been away. This time to Estes Park, Colorado. A lovely town, nestled in a beautiful valley. The last time I visited this town, it was quite the experience. This time I did not wear a scarf and all the bees are hibernating. Lucky me, no stings from a yellow jacket or accidental hanging by a scarf.

I got to be away this time because I purchased a super-duper deal online and didn't read the fine print. The deal had to be used by Feb 29, 2012. oops.

It really was lovely and I used the pool and hot tub. I even got to view an elk pass by on the slope across the way from the indoor water facilities. Pretty cool.

I have learned to read the fine print on these offers a little better. They still get me at times, the fine print, but I suppose that's why its there to see if you're paying attention or not.

See you, and remember to read the fine print on any offers you are considering.
Good day.
