Faith...

"faith is believing even when things don't work out the way you want and even when one's common sense tells you not too"

---quote from the movie Miracle on 34th Street.

This quote caught my immediate attention. Yes, I've been watching my Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music since Nov 1. ACCK, I know, I know (groan).

This quote is first spoken by the character Fred Gailey to Mrs. Doris Walker---almost at the very end of the movie). It's lovely. Doris then later repeats a similar quote to her daughter Susan (this one is at the end of the movie). It's lovely.

I believe the quote is the main point of the whole movie and (you guessed it) a lovely one at that.

and I bet you also guessed --- here are a couple of definitions of faith:

1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability.
2. belief that is not based on proof:

Side note: I love how Fred offers to give Doris and Susan a ride home at the end of the movie. I love the body language and the tone of voice. It's captured very eloquently.

Is there something or someone that you currently should have faith in? I hope you find it and like Susan, keep repeating, "I believe" over and over again until you have it. note: I don't believe you should be foolish about this either--bad is bad, good is good, and I have faith that you know the difference.
Faithfully yours,
Good day.

Thank you Dictionary.com for the definitions.

PS--still working on to getting Proverbs caught up (I've been very sad lately) --- Have faith that I will. :)
