Pip of Meet Me at Mikes blog is doing a read along and I thought it was neat. Go here to sign up or as for myself I am going to just read along on my own and re-read Anne of Green Gables and read The World Beneath. Fun. Note: after reading Anne all I wanted to do was clean, clean, clean. L. M. Montgomery kinda does that to you.
side note: moved the renter in and my place is a mess. Do I have to go HOME??? kidding, kidding. It's exciting, right?

I Took in a Renter...
and now I can't sleep. Its only for a year (yeah!). There are positives and negatives to taking in a renter. Wait...Wait... let me make another prediction.... I foresee more folks renting a room to make ends meet. The reason I predict this is if you are at all familiar with our first depression era, that is what folks did during that time period and that is also why in some very old homes you see an extra door to the outside in just a bedroom. (and we are in our second depression if you haven't noticed---and Congress put us there--not just Democrats not just Republicans--Congress).
I digress, anyway, I was soon going to have to take a second job, which I have done before and don't like. Only because I have no energy to begin with and then when working a second job this really puts a strain on my health. So this lifts the strain on my health and my pocket book. Hurray, for me!!!
Now why can't I sleep!!!??? Well lets see...
1. I am very territorial.
2. All people make me nervous--and I do mean ALL people (although I purposely & constantly do things to get over this issue, such as hang out with them---which is great but the issue just doesn't seem to want to go away--oh, well better luck next time).
3. The person has a dog and its big. Its really, really big. I didn't notice how big until she came to my home and now I feel as though I am living in a doll house, this dog is so big. She didn't seem so big previously, but she is really big. Geez, have I said "big" enough? I don't think so, the dog is BIG;
4. the dog is an Akita, which means... poor Mix, the cat. I hope the cat can survive because Akita's like to kill, kill, kill, 'cause that's what they are meant (bred) to do and I understand that.
I call Mix, "the cat" instead of "my cat", because she is not really my cat, she just likes to hang out with me. Too bad I'm allergic or I would pet her more often, but she sticks around anyway. I think she likes me. The neighbors stole her for three days once and then let her go because she was so mean--too funny. In fact, she used to be grouchier, but DD bought a collar and put it on her and I thought, "uh,oh" that's not gonna last long. Turns out the cat loves the collar because it proves she belongs to someone and is loved and she knows that the collar symbolizes this and she likes that. You can really tell that she thought, "hey, cool, now I belong." Its really ironic.
5. Have I mentioned being territorial, yet? In fact, I have had to go to my room several times already to put myself in a time-out due to over stimulation and the "roomy" hadn't even moved in yet. I get so nervous I imagine myself putting my hands over my ears and closing my eyes and turning round and round, all the while talking incoherently. Of course I can't actually do this, people would think I was crazy, but I want to do it. The good thing is, is that I don't do it. Hurray for me again!!! I'm sane--for today anyway!
6. and lastly the true reason...change. It's all very new and exciting and a little sad. A grand adventure!! and I can't sleep. Kinda like Christmas Eve when you know that Santa's coming to bring you a shinny new toy. And I'm sad too, because I had to move out the rest of DD's stuff 'cause the roomy took her room---boy, does she have a lot of CRAP!! It makes me sad, 'cause I always wanted her to feel as though she could come back if she needed to.
So, I now have a new playmate that I can't wait to make bicycle with me, talk to me, take walks at 1am, play with the snakes (yes, the roomy has snakes---they are small--and they are so cool!!). I think I'll go as Medusa for Halloween and wear a couple on my arms, how cool would that be??!!! and I'm sad 'cause DD and I are friends and my friend is not coming back soon.
Well, wish me luck with all the change going on around me---its exhausting. Thank goodness this is only for a year. 365 days and counting!

loved this rant from Yarn Harlot...
Yarn Harlot rant this is so close to how I feel its incredible. And when people reply, "no problem" for stuff, I always want to reply, "I didn't realize it was or I never implied that it was. " Because obviously it was a problem if you have to say its "no problem." Am I the only one that sees this???? Ok, I'm done now.
Useful gift idea tip - quick envelope gift bag...

Envelope gift bag from fellow blogger How About Orange.
materials:
decorative tape
scissors
1 - 4 3/8" x 5 3/4" envelope
--although its not so quick if you don't have the supplies but I liked this idea because it has a minimum amount of materials and satisfaction of a quick finished product is almost guaranteed, yes that's for me.
I like this idea too from Noodlehead, not as quick but very useful.

Impossibility...
Nothings impossible...This is a true story that was told to me this weekend by my mom.
My brother has a diesel Chevy pickup that he is very attached to. In fact, when it was time to get a new pickup that the shop purchases and he was part owner in he refused. He really loved that pickup and C and W now have the pickup. The pickup recently started to act up electronically, so C saw that there was a mechanic close to their home that advertised that they work on diesels. She took the truck into them. During the time that it was in the shop she had left something in the pickup that she needed to go get. She called the shop and asked if she could stop by and the mechanic said yes and I have an impossible, unbelievable story to tell you about the truck and you are going to think that I am crazy but I'm not. When she arrived the mechanic informed her that she would think that he was crazy and that what happened to him with this truck was impossible and totally unbelievable.
Here is the mechanics story: while he was working on the truck he spent hours working on it and he could not find the electrical problem and was getting more and more frustrated. He finally decided to pull all the connections to everything and start from the beginning. He unplugged the battery; he unplugged all the wiring checking it as he went; he unplugged the spark plugs---everything was dead; everything was unplugged. He still could not find the problem. He was so frustrated that while he was in the cab of the truck; he looked up to heaven and yelled, "OK, I give up, just show me!!" A code started flashing on the dashboard. Impossible, everything was disconnected. He looked the code up in his book and checked for the error and that was the problem. A tiny wire was disconnected.
While telling his story the mechanic and C were at the truck and C found the items she needed and they sat in the truck while the mechanic finished his amazing, unbelievable, impossible story. While sitting in the truck a different code starts to flash on the dashboard. The mechanic informs C, this cannot be happening. Everything is still disconnected. The mechanic looks up the code and says to C, I think you need to read this.
The code's symbol meaning: "Everything's Okay."
Impossible--yes.
Impossible for G --- No. Its nice to have heard from G and to know that everything's okay.

This is Martin Eichinger...

Duet,
Rapture,
On Wings of Hope
I really enjoy an artist's work when they are able to create a piece that makes you feel as though they were either looking at you or thinking of you when you see it (experience it).
This man does incredible art. I enjoy the sensuousness of it and of all the emotions it creates in me. I encourage you to seek a gallery that has his work so that you may experience it first hand. Or the alternative to obtain if you are lucky enough to purchase such beauty.

Uni-cycling...
I am going to make a prediction... yes, I know, "don't do it, dooon't doooo iiit!!!" you are screaming, but here goes...
Uni-cycling is coming back "in" as a fad. I saw two just today and it reminded me of when I was a child that a circus family moved into the neighborhood.
They were the coolest kids on the block. Very friendly, two brothers and a little sister and they could all ride a uni-cycle. Yes, they were part of the circus act, earning a wage. How cool is that. The oldest brother would ride a 15 foot tall cycle. It was cool to watch him get off and on. He had to climb it like a ladder and keep his balance at the same time. Boy did they all have balance and made riding the cycles easy. Yes, I tried it, and no I didn't even make it to the seat before being flat on my face. One neighborhood kid thought it so cool he purchased his own and though not as adept, he could eventually ride it without the sticks that come with it. The circus kids only stuck around for the summer and were gone come the fall. Back on tour, but they left an unforgettable memory. I think of them every time I see one, which isn't often, hence the prediction.

Creativity...
Creativity enriches you...this is me:
Creativity is separate from the real world for you. But it’s a magical world in which you like to immerse yourself. When you’re involved in it, you get the wonderful sensation that there are no limits, that anything is possible. What you are really looking for is harmony — you want to feel you are a part of what you create. Planting flowers, writing poetry, embroidery or putting together a photo album, these are all suited to your sort of quiet creativity. You want to fall in love with what you create. You also think of creativity as a part of you in which you can take refuge and feel protected. As the psychoanalyst D Anzieu explained, creativity acts as an ‘encouraging parent — loving, enriching and supportive’. You would love to use your creativity to retreat into a world that is kind and reassuring. For you, being creative means having the chance to become one with what you create, bathe in the glory of it and allow yourself to be taken over by it. This is why you seem more suited to the sort of creativity that calls for gentleness, subtlety, harmony and patience. The description above is very close to what I feel. Interesting isn't it?
Take the test by clicking on "CREATIVITY" and see what may enrich you. When I am planting plants I love the smell of the earth and how it gets under my fingernails. I just want to roll in the lovely smelling earth. And when it rains I can't stand being under an umbrella as it takes me away from being a part of it. I love the feel of it in my hair and running down my face and on my arms. Maybe that's why I enjoy knitting so much because I see myself as a part of the piece I am making. Maybe that's why when I make gifts, no one receives them and I keep them for myself, because its part of me that they receive and not many people "get" this. Besides if I gave so much of myself away how would there be anything left? Maybe I should look at myself as endless.

If Only...
If only the day were done...
If only I had the energy to actually do what I want...
If only I had more than enough...
If only I had a better attitude...
If only I didn't embarrass myself...
If only I were kinder...
If only I were more understanding...
If only I weren't so sad...
If only I weren't so angry...
If only I listened first...
If only I paid attention...
If only...
If only...

Court Yesterday...and I bet you can guess how it went...go ahead guess...
I lost. WOW, if it weren't for bad luck...and not being able to afford an attorney.
I was so nervous that when anyone spoke all I heard was a roaring in my ears. So if you asked me what happened all I know is I lost. There was something about Double Jeopardy; something about testimony being given; something about state of mind; etc, etc.
I learned a lot. (I have a fool for a client)LOL -kidding. and I have another Criminal Contempt to go... So...This is my plan:
1. I don't know how to speak in public anymore. I was so nervous that I forgot my notes at the table when I went up to testify; I was sick that morning (really sick).
solution: I am going to join Toastmasters, which is a free speaking in public group. I believe this will help with being able to concentrate on the important stuff--like what everyone is saying. It will also help with the nervousness and possibly keep me from being so ill.
2. Beyond a Reasonable Doubt- is not easy to prove.
It has four elements- a prohibited act; knowledge of the prohibited act; mental state of the person doing the prohibited act; no legal excuse.
I proved the first two but not the last two.
solution: I am going to learn how to prove the last two.
3. Learn Persistence - Never give up. Solution: Learn to go to court better.
There are 3 things you need to know for court: preparation, preparation, preparation.
The good news is that even though I lost in Criminal Court I can still sue the ex in Civil Court for the same issue. This was a good learning experience and I still have another chance. Plus I can go to Civil Court too and then all I have to prove is the first two elements which is Reasonable Doubt. Try, try again.

Gypsum Golf Course
I'm 45 and I don't know what I want...
That doesn't mean I don't like who I am or know who I am. It also doesn't mean I am not happy.

If it weren't for bad luck...
you guessed it, I'd have no luck at all.
The original post was going to be this...
Broken shower rod, the dog has hot spots, I woke up to a flat tire Wednesday morning, the "donut's" flat too, and I locked myself out of the house...(even DD noticed and made the comment that things were going bad everyday for me and that each day seemed to get worse). ha
The broken shower rod's ok, I can just take a bath. The dog's hot spots are gross but we're getting through it and she's on the mend. The flat tire I couldn't deal with at that moment so I walked away, called my mom and she took me to work and picked me up. After work, I dealt with the flat tire and my nephew W, who dislikes me intensely, came over and helped me change the flat out to the "donut" (I was at the point of removing it when he arrived). It was nice of him to help and I appreciated it. He left and I drove on a very LOW "donut" to the tire place. As I was rushing out of the house, I looked up to the sky and yelled, "If I don't get my bottomless pit of money by next week I think I'm gonna shoot myself!!!"
In my rush, I locked myself out of the house (I didn't realize this until I got to the tire place and I was thinking what I was going to eat for dinner when I got home and realized I wasn't going to eat anything as I couldn' get in). I had to call mom to send DD home to unlock the house for me. The tire place, where I do all my oil changes and buy my tires was really nice. I think they noticed I was at "wits end" when I came in and I asked if they could fix my tire tonight. It was 5:40pm and they close at 6pm. Yes, I became one of "those people" that drops in at the last minute and expects service. UGH. The guy replied "well how nice do think I should be and I replied "It doesn't really matter. You can take care of it now or I can come back tomorrow. I just know I gotta get it done." He got real quiet and said "you gonna wait? and I replied "I have no where else to go." I looked a wreck, oil, grease, and dirt everywhere. How I got so dirty I will never know since my nephew is the one who actually changed the tire out.
When the tire got done I went in to pay and I got to hear those wonderful words of "no charge." What a relief. The beginning of my "bottomless pit" started last night, how cool is that. Thank you Tire World.

And Now for the Rest of the Story...

There's something about this last weekend I didn't share...I didn't want to take away from DD and her concert thingy. But here's the rest of the story for Friday night...
After having enough smiley male band members for one evening, I decided to leave. I had previously taken DD's cello to my car and come back. As I was coming back; I got the feeling I should move my car. Geez, I should listen to myself more. Cause when I went back...yep, you guessed it my car, my beautiful Chevy Impala had disappeared. My first thought...STOLEN!!! ACK!!! but after looking at the skid marks--actually drag marks, I deduced -TOWED!!! (insert deducing music here). Now that's a word you never want to hear--"towed". ARRGH!!! Here's a picture of where I parked and the absolute postage stamp size of the warning. Its a very vague warning too (as you can see--I had to stand very close to get the picture to be this big). You can see where my car used to be because it had rained and where my car used to be is dry. The tow sign names no businesses or time periods and its at the other end of the building so me, being me, did not notice the sign. Thinking its a reserve sign for someone else and not applying to me. Little did I know.
Anyhoo, a cheesy mexican from RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!!, named Ron Archuleta from Absolute Towing, says ma'am don't waste your cell phone minutes. and of course since he likes to hear himself talk he explains to me (taking the long way) that my car is in the lot behind him and that it will cost me $254.00 CASH ONLY. (Like I have that on me). Give me a break!! I felt like I was in a "who's on first" skit because it took him a while to explain the payment method too. So my car gets towed 20 feet, if that, and its going to cost me. and I have one hour to get the money. cripes!!! So the BF takes me to my mom who has $55; I have $49; and the BF has $20. I have a Great Aunt (love, love the Great Aunt) and I know she may be good for some mulah (I was hoping most but some other family member got to her before me) She was great and had $110. She then starts hunting for the "hidden" money cuz I am $20 short, and this turns a light bulb on in my brain "ding"... I have a $20 hidden in my wallet! Viola!! $254.00 on the money!! Now to get back to the impound lot hopefully on time!!!
I race back to the impound lot and snottily get my car back. Boy was I mad(at myself)!! and the BF decides he can't take my insults about his driving along the way either. Can he not understand I have a $4,000.00 cello in the trunk?!!! Let alone the $254.00 cash to pay that I can ill afford. and the lot is not responsible for damages to the car or anything in it, and I only have an hour to get the money and get back again???!!! Sheesh!!
Anyway life got a little more interesting after the concert. My advice to the rest of you is to PAY ATTENTION to the postage-stamp size signs--it might be something really important and pertain to you too.
Friday Night Rock Out....

The kids did great. It sounded great. I will say I was at one point wondering if Debbie Gibson was going to come out and sing. Everyone of the bands is what I would call "perky." There is nothing wrong with "perky" it just really surprised me that it was so "perky." Aren't kids this age supposed to be angry and depressed??? I am ---I mean was.
So we had Dance Over Aneheim who were great with all original music and a cello that no one knew how to mike or mix into the sound. I could tell DD was having a difficult time. She looked like she was trying to have a bowel movement and was constipated. Poor thing. It was a good experience for her and she got through it.
Then Days Difference came out and I have never seen a bunch of guys so (you guessed it) "perky."
Then Allstar Weekend came out and were even more (yes, yes, here it comes...)perkier!! I did finally have to leave before all those fake smiles killed me.
Enjoy the pics as I tried to obtain a video but I am electronically challenged. I did finally figure it out but it was too late.
